Cumberbatch

Benedict Cumberbatch.

He is talented, strong, and amazingly powerful on screen.  I cannot get enough of him.

I am a tremendous fan of  The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.  Peter Jackson is brilliant, and I shall make a related post in the near future.

When I saw these images my heart skipped a few beats and I could not help but smile.  These are incredible! Through the use of motion capture cameras Benedict Cumberbatch is absolutely committed as Smaug; I am beyond excited to see The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug now.  I saw An Unexpected Journey four times in theaters, and I will most likely do the same with Desolation of Smaug.

The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug comes out December 13, 2013.  I will be at the first showing possible.

Confused Pup

Watch as this confused puppy sits in a bowl of water.  He's so fluffy, I want to steal him!

He's precious; I can't get over how cute he is.

Interviews

I have always found the human character to be quite interesting.  What makes people tick? Why are we the way we are?  I watch interviews to, perhaps, gain a sense of the person's actual self.  I know that it is often not accurate in the slightest but, nonetheless, I find it entertaining and informational.

I watch many different types of interviews; from comedy talk shows (Conan, Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Fallon) to THR's Actor Roundtable.

Two people I have watched numerous interviews with, multiple times.  Steven Wright with Craig Ferguson and Jeff Goldblum with Conan O'Brien.  I, of course, watch many many others but these two really stand out to me.

Watch these clips below and get ready for laughter.  I don't know about everyone else, but when I watch things that I find hilarious; I will laugh out loud... very loud.  I can't help it!

Steven Wright is hilarious.  I love his stand-up. Craig Ferguson makes him, as well as everyone else, laugh.  I enjoy watching The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson because it is more of a conversation then an interview.  He makes it seem much more personable, which to me makes it gold.

I have seen this clip many times but I crack up every time.  When Jeff Goldblum chokes, and Conan and Andy do nothing... priceless.  They are two incredible individuals, and together they are real and hilarious. Jeff Goldblum is a creative, odd, and intelligent individual and I would love to meet him at some point in my life.  Of course the same goes for Conan.

Hope you enjoyed these as much as I did.

Cheers,
Megan

Popular Culture

When I was growing up my dad would always call me a Pop Culture Princess.  For many years I accepted the title without real knowledge of what it meant.  Today I understand and, at times, boast the nickname.  I am fascinated by entertainment and the media.

I went to Oregon State for a couple of years occasionally taking, and usually enjoying, classes in Social Media.  I moved onto Portland Community College for a couple terms and dabbled at getting my certificate in Multimedia.  I have gotten off the school track for a term or two, but I have plans on returning to complete my certificate.

Movies are my number one interest.  I find every aspect of film enchanting.  In my spare time I am usually found watching interviews with actors, behind the scene footage, or interviews with Conan O'Brien.

Speaking of Conan, I also love comedy.  I enjoy watching stand up comedy, as well as watching "Arrested Development" type television--"The Office", "Wilfred", etc...

I am constantly listening to music.  I listen to a wide variety of music, and enjoy it all immensely   I am always on the search for new music and I appreciate social media because it allows me to share my finds.

Enough about me.  I hope this blog will serve as a good venue for me to share my pop culture finds, and thoughts regarding them.

Cheers,

Megan
